Original description:
Error 7 indicates a server-side timeout. Right now, the Facebook Connector fast-fails and halts all publishing activity in response to type 7 errors (as it does in response to all other errors). That said, unlike other errors, type 7 errors don't have to be fatal. We could attempt to recover from these errors by say, waiting twenty seconds and then running the same HTTP transaction again. If we do this 3 times and nothing happens then we can consider that a permanent failure.

Any idea why Shotwell gets so many "error 7"s? Are the timeouts set wrong, or is the HTTP library bugged? It just seems a bit odd that facebook's API would timeout 1 time in 10.

@Shaun:
It's unclear why Facebook servers are sometimes unresponsive. I have heard people tell me that this is related to the move to graph search but I don't know if this claim is accurate.
