I can think of two distinct types of metadata:
-
file metadata (e.g. EXIF), or generally metadata that was not explicitly added by the user
-
shotwell photo metadata such as title/comment, that was explicitly added
Personally, I'd like to strip (1) "just to be safe" since I don't know what information is revealed. However, I very much would like to publish (2) since I added it with the explicit intention of publishing it.
(related to #6305 - even if that is fixed, comments will not be uploaded if the user opts to "strip metadata" during the process)
