Original description:
Hi all, this is my first bug report for shotwell. I was importing pictures for my mother.
These pictures has been sorted on 2011.11.10 whereas the correct date is 2011.10.30.
So they were stored in Shotwell_import_dir/2011/11/10.
Once I have set the date to 2011.10.30, files still remain stored in Shotwell_import_dir/2011/11/10
whereas the correct folder is Shotwell_import_dir/2011/10/30.

Hi David, this is currently the expected behavior. We have a feature ticket to move photos after the date/time has been adjusted, so I've marked this as a duplicate of that ticket.
