Original description:
I sync my events with Facebook albums. I have an album "Mobile photos" where I upload shots I take from my phone. I usually take one at a time when I spot something I find intereting. Now, I have a corresponding event in Shotwell. As events are ordered by time of the oldest photo in an event and the oldest hoto for this album is about two years down, the event lies burried down. However, as I use it frequently, I would expect it to be at the top. Could you make it an option (I guess some people prefer the current behaviour) to sort events by the newest photo in them?

You can change the sort order for photos in events by selecting an event and going to View -> Sort Photos.
Closing ticket, but feel free to reopen if I misunderstood the question.

Well, I did not look there (just preferences). However, it does not solve my issue. Look at the attached screenshot. The problem is event "Nahodne z mobilu" is under 2011/April even if the last photo in it "V košíku ..." was taken today. What I would like would be for the event "Nahodne z mobilu" to appear under 2012/July instead.
The workflow that is tedious right now is that I take a new photo and a new event is created and I want to merge it with the event "Nahodne z mobilu" but that is burried deep down so I have to scroll and look for it.

I think we probably won't add a preference for this. Events in Shotwell are intended to represent groups of photos taken at nearly the same time. We strongly discourage creating events with overlapping date ranges (and we're considering removing support for such events in future versions of Shotwell). As long as events don't overlap, then ordering by the first or last event in the photo is the same thing. If your events overlap, you probably want to be using tags rather than events.
