Original description:
To see the problem:
-
Find a small image, say roughly 350 by 300 pixels. (An image from Shotwell's thumbnails directory will do.)
-
Import it into Shotwell.
-
Straighten the image by 15 degrees.
-
Open the crop tool. Move the crop rectangle as far downward as it will go. You will see that it overhangs the image edge by a pixel or two.
-
Press OK. You'll see that the cropped image contains a few black pixels in its lower corners.
Presumably this is due to rounding error.

It's possible to trigger this with an image of any size with the following steps:
- Import an image into or open an image with Shotwell.
- Straighten the image by a high amount and accept the straightening settings.
- Invoke the crop tool.
- Repeatedly attempt to drag the crop reticle's bottom corners against any of the downward-facing sides of the image and observe the results.
The amount it's off by appears to be proportional to image size; that is, with a larger image, it's possible to drag the crop reticle slightly further way from where the app should permit it to go.
