Original URL: http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/4294
Searchable id: yorba-bug-4294
Original author: Alexander Tsoy
Original description:
Shotwell terminates when compiled with SSP (-fstack-protector-all). This happens immediately after I open "Mass Storage Camera" folder (I'm trying to import photos from flash card). This message appears:
- stack smashing detected ***: shotwell - terminated
shotwell: stack smashing attack in function<unknown>
- terminated
When shotwell compiled without SSP everything works fine.
OS: Gentoo Hardened

Hi Alexander,
Can you provide us with a stack trace? The SSP message in and of itself isn't terribly helpful without us being able to see the context from which the stack-smashing method was called.

There's been no update for several weeks from the original reporter, so I'm closing this. Alexander, if you want to provide a stack trace then feel free to reopen and we can ponder this further.

Hi Lucas,
I've tried but with no luck. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
