Original description:
Steps to reproduce:
On a computer that uses Intel graphics hardware and has Fedora 15 installed, launch Shotwell and have or place at least two images in the library.
Navigate to the CheckerboardPage.
Click on one image.
Click on another image.
Cause the mouse pointer to hover over the first image.
Notice that, occasionally, in the shadow area below and to the right of the image being hovered over, corrupted pixels appear. This seems to be specific to Intel graphics hardware and Fedora 15.

What Intel card are you using? I have an Intel 965GM in my notebook computer and I don't see this problem.
Clinton, I know that in the past you've used an alternative window manager on your desktop. Which window manager are you using when you see this?
Until we have more information, I'm targeting this to 0.11 so it's not lost in the noise. Even so, we may drop this to 0.11.1.

@jim:
For what it's worth, Clinton demo'd the problem for me on Thursday and (at least then) it looked like he was using stock Compiz / GNOME shell. What's more, the graphical corruption is very mild and only affects a few pixels in the shadow region. We could definitely live with this for 0.11.

If it's that minor, then yes, let's focus on this for 0.11.1. We have enough on our plate for 0.11 as it stands.

Clinton recently saw this problem on his home machine. It appears to be related to playing a movie prior to switching to/using Shotwell, where pixels from the video overlay are being displayed in the area where the shadow is alpha blended.
Clinton, please verify this is the case. If so, I'm inclined to think this is a driver problem and we can close this ticket.
