Original description:
On my Oneiric machine, the Tint slider gutter in the Adjust dialog is narrower than the other sliders. As a consequence, when the slider is centered it doesn't appear vertically aligned with the other sliders in the dialog. See attached screenshot.
(I believe this is Oneiric-specific, but I can't test that since I only have an Oneiric machine at the moment. Could someone test this on Natty and/or Fedora to confirm that it doesn't occur that as well?)

I can get the same problem with Natty but only with a few themes.

Interesting. Thanks very much for this additional information and the helpful screenshot, Jonas.

100% repro in Oneiric daily from 15 August; I'll work on it ASAP.

Does not occur on vanilla installation of Fedora 15 (with default Gnome 3 settings).

Experimentation has revealed that there is something 'magical' about that particular row; if I change the calls to attach_defaults around so temperature is normally where tint is and vice versa, temperature's hscale is screwed up and tint is fine.

This is deep and theme-specific. Dropping milestone from 0.11 back to 0.11.1.

One more clue from yesterday: if I change the number of rows specified in the table to more than double the number of rows we actually plan to fill with widgets, then all the gutters are the same size, and if I add only one or two more rows, then, at least on Oneiric with the default theme, the row that gets the incorrectly-sized HScale moves down by one.
It would seem that which ever row is at the halfway point will almost certainly have an incorrectly-sized widget in the second column.

This is n annoying bug but highly specific to particular themes. It also looks like this will involve more code change than we would like for a dot release. Postponing to 0.12.

This may be fixed in the GTK+3 migration. If we don't see this in #4198 (closed), let's close this.

I've used Oneiric with every GTK+3 theme I could find (there aren't many) -- largely because I'm looking for a theme that's less ugly and less orange than the default Ubuntu themes (but I've tried various configurations of those -- say with different icon sets -- too). In no case could I reproduce this slider issue, so I'm closing this ticket as fixed as part of our GTK+3 migration. If this visual annoyance reappears, feel free to reopen.
