Original description:
When sending a bunch of images to friends or family over the internet the need to be scaled down to reduce the size. I commonly happens that I have folder with the original images and a shell script to perform the scaling in a subfolder. It sometime happens that I forget to delete the folder after I sent them and later import them into Shotwell.
Other programs (like digikam) have a great feature to find duplicate images by their content. A good example is described here: http://www.mohamedmalik.com/?p=639
It would be great if Shotwell would also be able manual generation of fingerprints for images and the possibility to remove the smaller ones.
