Original description:
Some users would like to be able to put all photos in each import into a single event. We could provide this as an option; when enabled, Shotwell would prompt for an event name at import time.
This would be particularly useful if we implement#3549; then each import could go into a single directory, which some users would like.
Related issues:

I'm not sure what this adds to #3549 (closed), if #3549 (closed) is implemented it automatically does this doesn't it? If I telling to use %Y/%ev for the directory structure (%ev being for the even name) then all pictures imported from that event would be in the same directory, wouldn't they?

- Category set to events
What this ticket specifies is that all photos be imported into a single event no matter their date/time of exposure.
Normally Shotwell creates one event per day during import. If you were importing a week's worth of photos, you'd get seven events. This ticket's feature means there's a checkbox somewhere that says "I know there are seven days' worth of pictures here, but import them all into a single event."
