Original description:
when processing photos I often use the crop tool. most of the time I use the "original size" setting. It would be cool if shotwell remembers this setting, so I dont have to select the setting again and again.

I don't think we want this fix in this form. Suppose that a photo has been cropped to some (non-square) aspect ratio, and I then crop another photo using a square aspect ratio. If I then go back and re-crop the first photo, Shotwell won't show me its existing crop rectangle; instead, it will show me a square crop rectangle. That means there's no way to see what the previous crop rectangle was or to make fine adjustments to it.
I think the right path forward here is to remember the aspect ratio for each cropped photo, which is harder. In the meantime I think we should back out this fix.

We discussed. We've decided to resolve this by using the last used crop ratio only for photos which have not been cropped.
