If you upload a photo to Picasa Web Albums, it's trivial to publish it to a Blogger blog; see http://picasa.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer =31292
for more information. Since version 0.5, Shotwell has supported uploading photos to Picasa Web Albums. Closing as worksforme.

The resolution of worksforme is still correct; I just supplied the wrong link. The link I provided gave instructions for integrating the Picasa desktop application with Blogger. Instructions for integrating Picasa Web Albums with Blogger can be found here: [http://picasa.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl= en&answer=150419](http://picasa.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer= 150419)

The person who originally suggested this responded:
Even though that is a reasonable idea, it still is too many steps (as opposed to Picasa's simple one-click publish option to Blogger). This is mainly for my wife, since she does the blogging, and having the ability to blog quickly and easily via Shotwell > Blogger would be ideal. Until then it seems Picasa is the route she'll probably be going…
So it is important to users to be able to publish directly, and if Picasa can do it, I'd ideally like to see Shotwell be able to also. Reopening.

Hi,
Some time has past since i have assigned to this ticket. I have been somehow working on it and I have some code that runs.
I have faced a problem and i need your help i making a proper decision.
Photos have to be uploaded to a photo service, because blogger api doesn't have such option. I thought about Picasa Web Albums, which is in the same family as blogger, however you have to login twice. How to reuse written code? I see two options:
-
in a service connector provide a simple api. In Blogger serviceInterctor all options are set and then is one or two methods call
-
Use full interactor with all panes, and at the end provide information about urls
I started the 1. option, but I realized that there has to be a lot of copy/paste.
I hope you understand where the problem lies.
Cheers
P.S.: Now I'm totally focused on this ticket and no other job is distracting me:)

@ rumianom:
You might want to wait a few days on the web connector for blogger. The reason for this is that dynamically-loadable publishing plugins should be part of the next release of Shotwell, and we hope to have a draft of the new publishing API up on the Yorba wiki within a week a so.

But is PicasaConnector going to change? or just the way new publishing plugins are written?

So that we don't have to support two separate APIs, our hope is to move all of the existing services, including Picasa, to the new API within the Shotwell 0.9 development cycle.

Just to be sure the tickect I should track for the new API is http://trac.yorba.org/ticket/182 ?
I have done the BloggerConnector with the old API.

Yes: that's the ticket that tracks the new API, which is under active development now.
