Original description:
Shotwell should support importing Targa (tga) files.
This bug report was originally reported by Brendon Peterffy on Launchpad: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/source/shotwell/bug/661935
“I'd really love to be able to manage my texture library with this, however I've discovered Shotwell lacks the ability to read the Targa format. To make my textures as compatible as possible with various game engines and 3d modeling programs my entire collection is in the format. Having this implemented would make it much more useful in my opinion.â€

GDK seems to be able to load these without help, but can't write them; it may be helpful to look at how allegro does it – see http://svn.tomasu.org/index.cgi/allegro/view/allegro/branches/4.2/src/tga.c

Tentatively closing. Reason: not commonly used for photography; if it's later discovered more people want this, we can review.
