Original Redmine bug id: 2129
Original URL: http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/2129
Searchable id: yorba-bug-2129
Original author: Jim Nelson
Original description:
We currently pull up the directory the photo is in, but cannot highlight file. Nautilus appears only willing to accept a directory on the command-line.
It's possible there is another step to make this happens. More investigation is necessary.

This was fixed in Nautilus, so we should be able to implement this now. Would be nice to have for 0.12.

I bet this will now be easy, and this will be a nice feature to have. Let's see if we can pick this one off now.

I think we should be able to ask GNOME which application is the default handler for type "inode/directory", and to then launch that application passing the filename we care about on the command line. I believe that Epiphany does this. See ephy-file-helpers.c/ephy_file_browse_to() and its children in the current Epiphany source tree.

By the way, we are adding a freedesktop.org DBus interface so apps can say, "show this file in the file manager" regardless of what file manager is running. See https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=636269 about this.
