If a large number of small files (8,000 8K JPEGs) are dumped into Shotwell, it will swamp the UI thread with completion callbacks. See #2111 (closed) for symptoms.

Vera -- can you re-test this case and verify it's still a problem? There's been so much re-work done on BatchImport, this problem might be solved.

I'm no longer seeing this. An import of 8,000 15K JPEGs ran smoothly and completed in 5 minutes (memory usage did not exceed 100MB).
