Our current Makefile doesn't properly install the icon. It appears it needs to go in directory with an index.theme file, of which the one that makes sense for us is:
/usr/share/icons/hicolor
Note that this is in /usr, not /usr/local, which is where a tarball installation would go.
I recall at one point we were installing the icon to /usr/share/icons/hicolor but had to remove it to support packagers. It may be we need to re-introduce this with some kind of configuration option for them to turn it off.

Unknown Component Using default product and component set in Parameters Unknown version " in product shotwell. Setting version to "!unspecified". Unknown milestone "unknown in product shotwell. Setting to default milestone for this product, "---". Setting qa contact to the default for this product. This bug either had no qa contact or an invalid one.
Resolution: RESOLVED FIXED
