Cannot add user ID: Inappropriate ioctl for device
Affected version
- Passwords and Keys (Seahorse) version: 43.0
- Application provider: Software
- Related info: Fedora 40 Workstation Edition, GNOME 46 using Wayland, gpg (GnuPG) 2.4.4
Steps to reproduce
I assume this is something specific with me, but I have no idea why it happens.
- Create a new GPG key through the application. This should happen without any issue.
- Attempt to create a new user ID inside that freshly created key.
Current behavior
A new window open, indicating: Inappropriate ioctl for device
. The application will then entirely close.
Expected behavior
User ID get added to the GPG key.
Additional information
I have already taken steps from a Google search, trying diverse solutions, but I still can't get the application to work right. I assumed it'd be only fair to create an issue for this application since it has never been raised before. It might be an issue on my end that I do not understand how to fix, so I apologize in advance if the issue isn't app-related.
