unable to unlock keyring without switching dbus activation environment to x11
this may be a bug in a dependency or a local missing package, if this needs to be moved somewhere else, please let me know
Affected version
- seahorse 40.0
- installed via fedora repositories
- Related info:
- fedora 34
- sway 1.6
- also seemingly effecting pinentry-gnome3
- using
Steps to reproduce
Starting occuring immediately after upgrading to fedora 34
after running into this issue on login, I attempt to unlock the login keyring manually using seahorse.
Current behavior
when running a wayland display, pressing the unlock button does nothing, in order to get the prompt for my password I have to set the dbus-activation-environment display to X11 via
dbus-update-activation-environment --systemd DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS DISPLAY XAUTHORITY
before seahorse will allow me to unlock my keyring.
Expected behavior
password prompt should be usable with a wayland session
Additional information
also happens with pinentry-gnome3 when using with gpg-agent
