Description
Attached wireshark log and rygel output from two scenario. In both scenarios there is USB drive attached to WiFi router which acts as storage for media and all video files are played from there. Rygel is being used on laptop which has Video folder shared from network drive.
$ sudo dpkg --list | grep rygel (using ppa found from rygel site)
ii librygel-core-2.0-1 0.20.1-1jensge1precise2 GNOME UPnP/DLNA services - core library
ii librygel-renderer-2.0-1 0.20.1-1jensge1precise2 GNOME UPnP/DLNA services - renderer library
ii librygel-server-2.0-1 0.20.1-1jensge1precise2 GNOME UPnP/DLNA services - server library
ii rygel 0.20.1-1jensge1precise2 GNOME UPnP/DLNA services
ii rygel-preferences 0.20.1-1jensge1precise2 GNOME UPnP/DLNA services - preferences tool
ii rygel-tracker 0.20.1-1jensge1precise2 GNOME UPnP/DLNA services - Tracker plugin
Both scenarios tried with and without non-standard-for-samsung.xml. Logs provided with .xml included.
Running elementaryos Luna (Ubuntu 12.04)
- Playing mkv file from Samsung DLNA browser -> Playback OK
- Playing mkv file from BubbleUPNP add (Render device Samsung TV, Source of video Rygel library) -> Samsung TV says "unsupported format".
I think it's pretty safe we can say Samsung TV doesn't understand all the DLNA formats but I'm filing this bug to start investigating if something can be done on Rygel or BubbleUPNP side. I'm not familiar with DLNA protocol so asking for your help!
