If video file has more than one subtitle and no title, only description of all subtitles is shown as name on TV
Hi, this is one of the few issues I have with Rygel that prevents me from regularly using it.
This has occurred since a long time ago, but only today I actually had the time to actually try to investigate the root cause.
TV: LG TV running WebOS 4.9.5
OS: Fedora Silverblue 36
version: rygel-0.40.4-1.fc36.x86_64
The behavior I seem to figured out is this is what is shown as the name for each file on the TV file manager:
- If I have a video file that has no title and no subtitles or only one subtitle: file name is shown;
- If I have a video file with title information but no subtitle or only one subtitle: title is shown;
- If I have a video file with no title information but more than one subtitle: only the description of the subtitles (this is the most annoying one);
- If I have a video file with title information and with more than one subtitle: the title is shown along with description of all the subtitles.
Ideally, it would be better if the list of subtitles is never shown. If there's a reason to always show subtitles descriptions if there's more than one, it would make sense to show file name along with subtitles description in case there's no title.
