iPod Properties Displays incorrect data

RB from the repository, v. 3.4.4
I'm using RB to manage an old iPod, Model XC297. The iPod, amazingly, is fully functional even after all the years I've owned it:
I have previously kept a Win10 install around just to use iTunes to manage it. I'm now trying to us RB. It has worked very, very well for this purpose. I've created the Music Library and I can copy tracks to and from the iPod. After ejecting the iPod, the tracks copied to it are visible in the iPod UI.
But RB has a glaring issue: There is no "automatic" way of seeing the state of the iPod as one adds files to it. iTunes has a different model for syncing to an iPod: it shows genres, artists, and albums with checkboxes next to each and as one checks an item, the display at the bottom shows available space usages along with color-coding for file type.
RB has such a display, but it is a state-in-time display shown when one clicks on the iPod on the left, then selects Properties. One can open/close it repeatedly (UGH) to update the data. BUT ... this display is incorrect. That is, the data on it for how much space "music" uses, or how much space is "available" are incorrect values. The screen shot below shows this (the gray box around the erroneous data bar that does not even show "available", with arrows pointing to incorrect data points):
It's clear that "available" data does not match by many GBs the data available shown in Dolphin (that long arrow between them serves to highlight this); see below. Also, the value for "music" is quite incorrect -- there is certainly not 300+Gb of "music" on the iPod since it's storage max is 160Gb.
The only 'real time' way I've found to show how much real space is available on the iPod, is to use KDE's Dolphin filemanager; when I navigate to the mount point and click on it, in the bottom, right of the Dolphin window space usage is shown (this is the app to the right in the screen shot above)
I have ejected the iPod and confirmed in its internal "status" display that it is a 160Gb model and it cannot have 300+Gb of music on it, and that the available space does not match the RB properties display. On remounting the iPod, the Properties display remains as it was before the ejection.
Not sure if there is anything that can be done to fix this, but though it might be of some value to developers. If there is somethign I can do (though I'd loathe resetting it I can do that) let me know.
Thanks for a terrific app, by the way. I have a request about it, but that's for another entry.
