Traceback trying to move clips

Description
Was playing around with clips and effects. I did several operations: link, unlink, group, ungroup. I tried to undo an action. Added some keyframe points.
A couple of strange things happened.
- at some point I could no longer manipulate the alpha channel of the top-most source
- there were five copies of the clip in the timeline, but I'm pretty sure I only had added two.
When I quit the program, the following tracebacks filled my console. I am not sure at which point they began to appear.
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "pitivi/ui/controller.py", line 131, in motion_notify_event

File "pitivi/ui/trackobject.py", line 128, in set_pos

File "pitivi/timeline/timeline.py", line 144, in setStart
position = self.timeline.snapToEdge(position, position + self.duration)
AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'snapToEdge'
Not sure exactly how to reproduce this yet.
