Any substantial projects produce async errors during editing

Description
Running pitivi from master flatpak, trying to navigate and preview a project of only about 10 minutes produces ongoing errors, with the playhead jumping around, or preview playback simply halting. The following errors are repeated many, many times as I try to navigate the project:
ERROR 15:00:29 pipeline pitivi+utils+pipeline+pipeline0 _async_done_not_received_cb: we didn't get async done, this is a bug (../../app/lib/pitivi/python/pitivi/utils/pipeline.py:299)
ERROR 15:00:29 pipeline pitivi+utils+pipeline+pipeline0 _recover: Pipeline error detected during playback, resetting -- num tries: 0 (../../app/lib/pitivi/python/pitivi/utils/pipeline.py:469)
These async errors aren't necessarily produced when the project is first loaded, but interacting with it does produce these errors.
Other errors are also produced:
0:02:19.348263784 3 0x9e908a0 ERROR queue gstqueue.c:1039:gst_queue_handle_sink_event:<aqueue> Failed to push event
0:02:19.348640311 3 0x9e908a0 ERROR queue gstqueue.c:1039:gst_queue_handle_sink_event:<aqueue> Failed to push event
The timeline navigation behavior and errors are NOT a problem when loading the project in 0.98.1. I'm not sure if it's something caused by flatpak, or if it's perhaps caused by the fix in T7793? Performance seems better all around in 0.98.1 than in flatpak master.
On another note, I feel that I should file a bug to have Pitivi address the many issues it has with large project files, but I'm not sure how to do that. It seems the program really just can't handle anything beyond a simple, short timeline, with minimal transitions and layers.
