Description
Once in a while, Pan disappears with the following error message printed on the terminal/console:
pan: Fatal IO error 2 (No such file or directory) on X server /tmp/launch-uIjtFV/org.macosforge.xquartz:0.
The socket still exists:
$ ll /tmp/launch-uIjtFV/org.macosforge.xquartz* srwx------ 1 scifi wheel 0 Sep 5 13:14 /tmp/launch-uIjtFV/org.macosforge.xquartz:0
… and other X11 apps continue to run (since the socket really is still there and alive).
In this particular case, Pan had some items to download, while I tried to get an NZB loaded-up. Pan disappeared when I tried going thru the "Import NZB Files" Path Selection dialogs.
But I've seen Pan disappear while it was simply handling the downloads.
I can simply restart Pan and it will continue, no biggie.
There is no automatic "crashreport" from this, since it seems not related to such conditions.
But I am seriously wondering why Pan does this. I've seen this bug many times thru-out most of this year's (2012) code at git.gnome.org/pan2, so I can't really pin it down. Yet I am having trouble with my "trust" in Pan to stay up and active. ;)
Thanks for any help.
