Ctrl+V in Firefox after Flat Review Copy from terminal fails
Steps to reproduce:
- Bind the flat review copy command to a keystroke
- Launch mate-terminal and Firefox
- Use the flat review copy command to copy text from terminal
- Switch to Firefox and use control+v to paste the copied text into the address bar
Expected results: It would work.
Actual results: It does not work, but it used to.
The commit that introduced the regression is 33734675 (the creation and use of the Focus Manager). That surprised me.
I'm still debugging, but this bug is weird and I don't want to lose all the things I've learned about it so far.
- If you use flat review copy from mate-terminal, Ctrl+V works as expected in all other apps BUT Firefox, including Chrome.
- If you use flat review copy from any other app, Ctrl+V works as expected in Firefox.
- If you use flat review copy from mate-terminal, you can still paste in Firefox via the context menu (e.g. shift+F10 then choose paste).
- If you copy from mate-terminal some other way (e.g. using the mouse to select text and copy it), Ctrl+V works as expected in Firefox.
- This does NOT appear to be a key grab issue or conflict (e.g. related to V being associated with visited links).
