Create a Speech Monitor for developers
I'm a software developer and I develop accessible applications on Linux.
It would be very convenient to have --output-speech
and --silent
or similar flags. --output-speech
would output the content that gets normally spoken into standard output. --silent
on the other hand, as its name suggests would keep ORCA muted.
At the moment I'm using orca --replace --debug-file=/dev/stdout | grep 'SPEECH OUTPUT:'
and it works ok. To keep ORCA quiet, I'm muting speech-dispatcher-espeak-ng
on my DE's settings. It just would be more convenient for developers to have these little flags supported straight.
Thank you
