Cannot delete-to-trash when navigating to a veracrypt partition via soft link
Steps to reproduce
- Versions: Ubuntu 18.10, Nautilus 3.26.4
- Have access to a decrypted veracrypt partition
- Create a soft link (ln -s) to that veracrypt partition (from a different partition)
- Use Nautilus to navigate to that veracrypt partition via the soft link
- Attempt to delete a file, and permanent delete is the only option. Cannot move files to Trash via delete menu
Reproducible in:
- Flatpak unstable: no -->
- Other: flatpak unavailable for 18.10
Current behavior
Files cannot be moved to trash under conditions listed above. Note that if Nautilus is used to navigate to the veracrypt partition/files via the full path (and not the ln -s path), Nautilus works as expected!
Expected behavior
Files should be able to be moved to Trash
Additional information
- Same conditions tested with other file managers (Nemo on same instance of Ubuntu 18.10, and Dolphin on KDE 18.10), and bug was not present. Seems to be specific to 18.10 and Nautilus.
