Switching view mode breaks sort order of icon view
Affected Version
- Version: 46.0
- Distribution: Arch Linux
- Also happens with development version: Yes
Steps to reproduce
- Open Files
- Navigate to a non-empty directory with at least two files (e.g. home directory)
- Switch to list view (CTRL+1)
- Switch back to icon mode (CTRL+2)
- Press F5 to refresh files view
Expected Behavior
Files and directories after the last step should be sorted according to the configured sort order.
Actual Behavior
Instead, files and directories are shown in a seemingly random order. This also carries over to subdirectories. The problem goes away when Files is restarted or sort order is switched to something else.
Additional Information
The problem was first observed in Files 46.0
