Undesired behavior: selection is set to next item in list when selection is deleted.
Affected Version
- Version: 42.6
- Distribution: Ubuntu 22.04
- Also happens with development version: Yes
Steps to reproduce
- Open two windows of Files next to each other in the same directory.
- Create a two empty folders in that directory.
- Select that folder in both windows.
- Delete that folder in one window.
- Observe that the selection changed to other elements not previously selected by the user.
(Step 3 is optional, but shows the undesirable effect when the selection is deleted by another program.)
Expected Behavior
Selection should be cleared (and set to the previous selection if those elements re-appear (e.g. via the undo action)). This is the conventional behavior as seen in all file explorers. Other elements may be focused, but not selected.
Actual Behavior
Selection is set to the next item, if existent, or else the previous item, if existent.
