Treeview expandable folders sometimes do not fold with the Left arrow key when a sub-item inside the folder is selected
Affected Version
- Version: nightly
46.beta-867d3fc15
and46.beta-8e42d9fd4
(HEAD) - Distribution: Fedora 39
- Also happens with development version: Yes
Steps to reproduce
- In listview with expandable folders, use the right arrow key to expand a folder
- With the up/down keys, move the selection to one of its subitems/files
- Press the left arrow key
Expected Behavior
Cursor should be set back to the parent folder, allowing to fold it again with a second press of the Left
arrow key (like it did in version 45 and earlier)
Actual Behavior
Sometimes* the folder doesn't fold, and the parent folder's third item (the second file in the parent?) is selected instead, causing a sudden jump downwards as you can see in the videos below.

Problem does not occur if you keep the folder itself selected when pressing the Left key.
*: it seems this issue only manifests itself sometimes, under unknown conditions... maybe after running a while, or using searches and lots of tabs and switching views?
