Newly installed SSD not visible in files
Affected version
- Nightly flatpak: Yes
- GNOME nautilus 42.2 in Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS
Steps to reproduce
- Install a second SSD into the computer
- Mount it to /media/$USER/MOUNT_DIR_NAME using fstab or ubuntu disks utility
- The ssd contents are accessible from terminal and also via nautilus, but the entry will not appear in the navigation menu.
- Now, using fstab, mount it twice, e.g. same ssd is mounted to two different locations (e.g. /media/
USER/MOUNT_DIR_NAME_1 and /media/
USER/MOUNT_DIR_NAME_2). - Now, the second mount appears in the navigation panel, but not the first one.
- On the Disks utility, the first mount appears.
Current behavior
When a new disk is installed in the computer, its entry does not appear in the files navigation panel. If I plug in a USB, then it works as expected, but not for a non-removable SSD. I have tried different options available in Disks utility as well as in the fstab, but it does not work. It worked fine in Ubuntu 18.04 yesterday before I upgraded to 22.04. I use fstab because I want to persist the mount after reboot. When using fstab, if I mount the same ssd twice on two different locations, the second one appears in the navigation panel of files, while the first one appears in the Disks utility of Ubuntu.
Expected behavior
An entry should appear for a newly installed SSD, just like it does for USBs etc.
