Conflicting file operations can happen for folders and files with long copy/move operations
So I was copying a dozen or so movies from one hard-disk to a new hard-disk the other day, and simultaneously organizing the files. However, whenever I accidentically touched one of the folders which contained a movie file currently in progress of being processed, Nautilus would throw an error at me.
I suggest two ways to deal with this:
- Let Nautilus be aware of changes to file paths during a copy-operation, so users can't do conflicting file operations.
- Indicate on folders in the folder view that it contains files which nautilus is currently operating on, so you can avoid touching them while an operation is in progress and perhaps show warnings when trying to move/rename these folders. (needs design)
