Normalize letters (ignore diacritical signs) when searching
Affected version
- Nightly flatpak: Yes
- Other: Manjaro. File version 42.1.1
Steps to reproduce
-
Open Files application
-
In the current directory, create some files or folders with and without french accents: Etrange/
Étrange/
etrange.txt
Etrange.txt
étrange.txt -
In the current directory, search a file or folder. For example by typing « etra »
Current behavior
Only « Etrange » folder and two files « etrange.txt » and « Etrange.txt » are displayed
Expected behavior
The letters « é » and « e » have to be the same. Like « e » is the same as « E » or « é » is the same as « É »
All the letters with accents have to be search with the non accent letter too, like uppercase or not.
So all the files and folder in the directory have to be shown when typing « etr » in Files application.
