"Other Locations" area does not allow for column sorting and shows data in a random order.
Affected version
- Nightly flatpak: Can't test it because don't want to alter my existing install using Flatpak
- Other: OS: Pop!_OS 20.10 x86_64. Version: 3.38.1-stable
Steps to reproduce
- Start Files/Nautilus on a PC with multiple drives and partitions
- In the Side Pane, click the "Other Locations" button
- Under "On This Computer" in the Main Pane is listed the available partitions.
- Observe that the list is unsorted/random. The partition names are unordered, as well as the device names too. It's a mess
Current behavior
The "Other Locations" area shows the devices/partitions in a random order, making it difficult to find the partition required.
Expected behavior
The "Other Locations" are should show clickable column headers for what is essentially tabular data. Headers could be called: "Name", "Size", "Device". When clicking on a column header, these should persistently record the sorting option for the user, toggling A-Z or Z-A (i.e. behave as per normal column headers in the regular files view).
