Group files by type
Use cases
This feature helps users to find files more easily, especially in folders where there are many files.
A similar feature exists in Windows' Explorer and macOS's Finder.
Here are some details about how Finder uses this feature:

Desired behavior
An Arrange by [...]/Group by [...] feature that:
- Groups all files based on their type (pdf, zip, csv, etc.), recency (today, this week, last month, etc.), size (small, big, large)
- In each group, allows the user to sort by another dimension
- Displays the groups in alphabetical order
Benefits of the solution
Improved user experience. This is of course subjective along the same lines in which one user might prefer the list view and another might prefer the icon view.
