Crash caused by games that take too long to start.
I just upgraded to Pop_OS 19.10 from 19.04 and TF2 (Team Fortress 2) crashes on start-up. It loads the start screen waits for a while and then everything becomes unresponsive. I can still hear the game music and move the mouse but nothing else works. I can't alt-tab to another window, I can't close the game, I can't do anything in that session. I have to CTRL+ALT F4 to another session and kill things manually.
I asked about this problem over on Reddit and a user mentioned that they are seeing the same thing with CS:GO and it's related to a bug in Mutter.
Before my upgrade, Gnome would regularaly throw up a "application is taking too long" dialog box when launching TF2 but after several seconds it would go away and my game would continue launching. Now it appears that instead of throwing up the dialog something, somewhere is crashing.
