classic HiDPI support is broken
While testing compatibility of the Xwayland xrandr resolution change emulation for fullscreen games I'm working on. I tried changing the scale of one of my 2 1920x1080 monitors to 200%.
The results were not what I expected, with this setup gnome-shell (master) becomes quite unstable. If I try to move gnome-control-center displaying the display-settings pane from the 100% monitor (where it ends up after pressing apply) to the 200% gnome-shell reliably crashes. I've briefly tried to get a backtrace but I did not get anything useful.
Launching gedit in windowed mode also seems to reliably crash gnome-shell with classic HiDPI support. Once I disable fractional scaling using:
gsettings set org.gnome.mutter experimental-features "['scale-monitor-framebuffer']"
All these problems go away and everything works beatifull. maybe it is an idea to no longer mark this as experimental?
