Switching mouse off mid-drag renders other pointing devices unclickable
Affected version
- mutter-44.0-1.fc38.x86_64
- Fedora 38 (might happen on earlier versions)
- Tested only on Wayland
Bug summary
Assuming you have multiple pointing devices, if one is switched off mid-drag then other pointing devices are unable to complete the drop or click on other things.
Steps to reproduce
- Attach at least two mice, one wireless.
- Begin a window drag with the wireless mouse. Switch it off while holding down the left button.
- Attempt to complete the move with the other mouse.
What happened
The window drag remains after the first mouse is switched off, and disrupts subsequent operations with other mice.
What did you expect to happen
The drag is dropped as soon as the source input device is switched off.
