Incorrect desktop popup / icon size when using different DPI on wayland with NVIDIA external monitor
i am not sure whether this should be in mutter or gnome-shell, apologies if I chose the wrong project.
Affected version
Manjaro Linux kernel 6.0.0-1 Gnome 42.4 on wayland My laptop has an internal 4k screen at 200% and an external 2k screen at 100% via hdmi / nvidia Nvidia: pascal GPU on proprietary drivers, not sure it matters
Bug summary
When using a mixed DPI configuration, the popup on the desktop has the wrong size. Depending which screen is primary, it is either smaller or bigger. It seems to use the DPI of the primary screen rather than the screen the popup is opened on.
Steps to reproduce
- configure mixed dpi environment with nvidia on wayland (my setup: internal 4k screen at 200% and an external 2k screen at 100% via hdmi / nvidia)
- click on screen which is not primary
What happened
- popup menus on desktop and icons in the window overview have the wrong size on the secondary monitor (it seems to match the DPI of the primary monitor).
What did you expect to happen
- popup menus on desktop and icons in the window overview should be sized correctly secondary monitor (correct dpi for monitor they open on)
Relevant logs, screenshots, screencasts etc.
Herem, the icons on the right screen are double their normal size compared to the windows on the right screen
