GNOME offers non-functional refresh rates
Affected version
- Ubuntu 22.04
-
libmutter
42.2-0ubuntu1 - Wayland only
Bug summary
On a Lenovo Z13 it's observed that many of the resolutions offered by GCC are non-functional when logged in with Wayland. Switching over to Xorg all are functional. Picking many of the resolutions will yield a black screen.
I noticed that the refresh rate for the non-functional resolutions is not 60Hz, but at least attempting to decode the EDID I don't see anything BUT 60Hz advertised.
Steps to reproduce
- Login with Wayland
- Open GCC
- Pick a resolution that is smaller than the panel's native resolution
What happened
Black screen until it times out and goes back
What did you expect to happen
Change resolutions
