Strange behaviour with chromium browsers and tabs on dual screen
Affected version
- Gnome 3.38.4 on Arch and Fedora 33
- Gnome 40 on Arch
- several Chrome and Brave Versions
Bug summary
Some time after using a chromium-based browser when I try to rearrange the tabs, the selected tab gets detached out of the main window and can't be dragged back into the main window.
Steps to reproduce
Use the latest Chrome or Brave Version on the secondary screen in a dual monitor setup. After a few minutes try dragging out or rearrange a tab. The tab can't be dragged back into the main window UNLESS both windows are placed on the primary screen, where the tab can be merged with the parent window.
What happened
The tab can't be dragged back into the main window on the secondary screen. This happens on two very different machines under wayland and x11. One with an Intel graphics card, the other with an older nvidia GTX770.
update April 11.: tested with a Radeon RX460 in Wayland, the problem is still there.
What did you expect to happen
The tab can be dragged back into the main window on the seconday screen.
