cannot vertically resize in discrete steps via keyboard shortcut
GNOME Shell allows resizing a window via a keyboard short cut (default: Alt+F8
).
Using this function in GNOME Terminal and weston-terminal (both clients that resize in discrete steps of character sizes):
- allows to increase and decrease the horizontal size (i.e. the width)
- allows to decrease the vertical size (i.e. the height)
- does not allow to increase the vertical size
This issue only shows on Wayland, not on X11.
Versions:
- gnome-shell: 3.36.4
- gnome-terminal: 3.36.2
To reproduce:
- open GNOME Terminal
- activate resize shortcut:
Alt+F8
- press
up
arrow key to select the top edge and pressup
again to increase the size (issue: size does not increase) - deactivate and re-activate resize shortcut again
- press
down
arrow key to select the bottom edge and pressdown
again to increase vertical size (issue: size does not increase)
In steps. 3. and 5. the vertical size does not increase, it can only be decreased. There is no issue with the left and right window edges. Also, there is no issue with other GTK apps, such as gedit or nautilus.
