[Wayland] mutter sometime resets scale factor after window movements
It was reported to alacritty that it becomes blurry from time to time after movement on HiDPI
screen (using scale 200%
). After looking at logs, it was noticed that mutter resets its scale factor from 2
back to 1
, which results in a blurry window in the end. Alacritty bug is located here https://github.com/alacritty/alacritty/issues/3675 .
Wayland debug log.
I do remember that I've seen this issue myself in the past on GNOME, however I don't have it right now to verify. IIRC it was happening to me after shortcuts to move window to a hot corners, but I could be wrong here. wayland-debug log is already suspicious, since it shouldn't reset scale factor in a first place.
The bug happened on Ubuntu 20.04, so I guess GNOME + mutter was with default version from it 3.36.1 https://packages.ubuntu.com/focal/gnome/gnome-shell .
