freezes, when doing 2way diff from dir diff, where file previously didn't exist on one side but is created upon save
This happens with meld 3.22.0.
When doing a git difftool -d
(which shows me a directory diff) and then comparing a file from that, which was newly added (i.e. it exists on the right hand side of the diff, but not on the left one) the following happens:
If I open the 2way diff of such a file "pair", by selecting the file (respectively the missing counterpart) and then pressing Enter
, only the existing file opens - i.e. there is no left/right side, but only one Editor-Window.
When I open the same however via a double click, I do indeed get a 2way diff with left and right hand side, in which the left would be empty.
The tab would say <unnamed> — /tmp/foo
, the "File-Button" on the left hand side would says File 1
(and that on the right hand side the real path /tmp/foo
).
If in that view I e.g. merge everything from the right side over to the left one (so both sides are identical - but I guess the main point is simply that there is now something on the left side)...
-
Ctrl-S
on the left hand side, meld freezes right away - close meld, the confirmation dialogue would again use
<unnamed>
as presumed filename,... if I continue with saving, it also freezes
Thanks, Chris.
