Directory comparisons: sellecting other dirs
Another question on directory comparisons:
- Suppose we are looking at two directories:
c:\dev\project\a
(on the left) and\\192....\share\project\a
(on the right) - At this point I'd like to switch both panels to
b\
sub-directories in theproject
- this means that I need to navigate up and then down to
b\
in each panel
- this means that I need to navigate up and then down to
The issue comes up when clicking "Other" in the dir selection rectangle (above the file list):
- The directory shown is the last selected one, as far as I understand
- So, inevitably, it will be wrong for one of the panels
- navigating to the right place for that panel makes the "current dir" sticky somewhere
- so selecting "Other" for the second panel will start at the wrong place again
In other words:
- It would be much more useful for this case to make the "Other" selection start with the location of the associated panel
- or even call that entry "Change" or "Navigate"... as long as I can continue to refine within the general location
Thanks!
