on-the-fly comparison from clipboard
I'd love to also use meld for a quick comparison of snippets that I'd like to provide by the clipboard. Currently, I'm forced to create files first.
Possible workflows:
- Add another button on the start screen that is labeled like "Snippet Comparison". Then two content editor panes are opened like comparing two files. Just without file names and content.
- Or preferred because more usable: When I start meld without parameters (which I only ever do when I'd like to compare in memory) then the two editor panes are shown with the left one containing my clipboard content already. I know, this would make the whole existing start screen kind of useless, because there is probably always something in the clipboard. Maybe a combination of both workflows is an option too: Provide a separate button on the start screen and then fill in the clipboard content if it is triggered.
(I know this is a duplicate of #427 (closed). But I'd wanted to express the idea better and separate from the other things in that issue)
