Currently cairo-svg uses the element to render glyphs. Such glyphs have their origin at baseline-left, which is typical in text rendering. This works fine with librsvg.
However, as observed in Firefox and Chrome, and hidden in the spec, the element clips its content to a rectangle. When width and height are left unset, they expand to 100%, the result being that in a line like this:
only the first quadrant is rendered.

librsvg needs to be fixed to do the (stupid) clipping...
