The icon-dropshadow style should apply to AdwStatusPage too
Currently, if you set a class style of icon-dropshadow
to an AdwStatusPage, it doesn't affect the embedded icon. I'd argue it should. (ditto for lowres-icon
)
- The docs currently say it will apply for
GtkImage or any other widget that contains an image
, though I grant that it is debatable whether one would assume that would apply to a composite widget like AdwStatusPage. - A status page is recommended as an initial-state placeholder, but a lot of apps probably don't have fancy graphics to use and might just use their app icon - this style would be useful then, since the HIG recommends drop shadows for app icons.
- If you want a drop shadow, there's no way to work around this without custom css (e.g. being able to set a GtkImage for a status page would work - but you can only set a paintable or an icon name).
- Software does have custom css to work around this issue, which they could drop if this is resolved.
