gvfsd does not react to new device
Hi,
I'm struggling with an Ubuntu 23.10 desktop. Usb storage devices are not mounted or getting visible in the Files application.
The disks are connected and with udiskctl I can even mount them as an user.
Asked the folks at storaged, they point towards gvfsd.
What I can see:
- The disk appears in the OS, /dev files/links created
- Udisk provides the information through dbus:
signal time=1709827712.307226 sender=:1.8 -> destination=(null destination) serial=111 path=/org/freedesktop/UDisks2; interface=org.freedesktop.DBus.ObjectManager; memb er=InterfacesAdded object path "/org/freedesktop/UDisks2/block_devices/sda1" array [ dict entry( string "org.freedesktop.UDisks2.Block" array [ dict entry( string "Device" variant array of bytes "/dev/sda1" + \0 ) [etc]
- gvfsd does nothing, either using strace or using GVFS_DEBUG=1 $(find /usr/lib* -name gvfsd 2>/dev/null) --replace.
It's possible that I'm debugging wrong, of course.
My apologies for the username, registering was frustrating.
