Cannot access an NFS share via server URL
Affected Version
- Version: 45.2.1
- Distribution: Fedora 39
- Also happens with development version: Yes (46.rc)
Steps to reproduce
- Open Nautilus
- Click "Other Locations" in the sidebar
- Enter the URL of the NFS share to the address field on the bottom
- Click "Connect"
Expected Behavior
Nautilus should connect to the NFS server and I should be able to access and view the files on the share.
Actual Behavior
A dialog is shown with the error "Mount point does not exist".
Additional Information
I think the URL is right, and the tooltip in the "Other Locations" view shows that the prefix is supported:
The server should also be configured correctly, since I can mount the share just fine with mount
, e.g.:
sudo mount -t nfs 192.168.2.123:/ /media/nfs_share
The files are then browsable in Nautilus.
Server
The NFS server is running on another Fedora 39 machine. It's running via the nfs-server
systemd service that comes with the nfs-utils
package (the currently installed version is 2.6.4).
Here's how the share is configured on the server:
/etc/exports
:
/storage/merged 192.168.2.123/24(rw,sync,fsid=root)
